Welcome to the Modeemi Wiki: we want this place to be as complete as possible source of knowledge about our IT Club! You can read more about us, and how to join, here.

Our clubroom is located in room TA013 at Tampere University, on Hervanta Campus in Tietotalo.
You can find it on the basement level, and You can get there by the stairwell behind Tietotalo-INFO.

Tinkering space inside our clubroom

Inside the clubroom, we have an IT tinkering space, where You can connect your computer to our screens, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Both wired and wireless networks are available at Modeemi working at near gigabit speed.

You can check when our clubroom is open at doors.modeemi.fi, a project maintained by our club members, which aggregates information from IoT door opening sensors from different clubrooms. Besides the website, there is also open telegram channel, Hervanta bots which is directly linked into our system.

Started in 90s, our club maintains the soda machine, where You can get a cold beverages between the lectures! Currently (as of May 2026) we have available following beverages:

1. Pink monster - 500ml
2. White monster - 500ml
3. Dr Pepper - 335ml
4. A&W Root Beer - 335ml

Our club maintains a machine room which is a home for many of our servers. They support the club operations, and allow you to see for example this page. Maintaining the networks and the servers, brings unique opportunity to gather hands on experience for many of us. The technical possibilities allow us to explore a new technologies, understand various networking protocols and large number of members willing to give an advice is especially helpful during this process.
